Porcelain Citron on a Plate

This giant citron known on the Amalfi Coast as a Sfumato lemon, is unique to the area it is cultivated so it bears IGP status, Indicazione Geografica Protetta. It makes us think of Italian august dinners under the lemon trees, boughs heavy with fruit and held up by the chestnut trellis, and of the delicious candied citron peel in panettone.
